We had an amazing time walking along the river with stunning views of the Chiltern Hills. The hotel had plenty of space for our family, and the kids loved the nearby park. The nearby dining options were delightful, matching our expectations.
My kids wished there were more kid-friendly activities at the hotel.

The atmosphere at the Elephant Hotel was lovely, and the staff genuinely cared about our experience. the room could use some updates, as the décor felt a bit dated, and noise could be an issue at times. it was a pleasant stay with good food and beautiful gardens.

Had a lovely stay where I really enjoyed the well-decorated bathroom with a top-notch shower and the comfy coffee tray setup. I also loved relaxing in the sun terrace and the cozy garden area during my downtime. My room was a bit small, but it didn’t take away from the overall great experience—definitely a good spot to unwind! ☀️

Charming stay with character
Spent 4 nights in a gorgeous room filled with unique Indian decor. Staff were super friendly and helpful, and the bar food hit the spot after a long day. One thing tho—breakfast could def use some work. The vibe in the lounge was a bit off too, could use some sprucing up.

It was just a suitable option for a lightning trip in Pangbourne with good price-value balance. The room had a charming, intricate carved headboard, though the bed was disappointingly uncomfortable. Make sure to bring earplugs for a better night's sleep.

Solo traveler looking for comfort
I had a great time at the hotel, room was lovely and clean when I walked in, all boutique style, really brought me back to life after a long day. And can’t forget the breakfast, it was excellent, way better than expected and the staff were helpful.
Wasn't exactly budget-friendly, but I guess you get what you pay for.

The Herd restaurant is a culinary gem, serving up some fantastic local dishes that had my taste buds dancing. Plus, the bar offers a solid selection of real ales that just hits the spot after a long day. The room decor might be quirky, but the large comfy bed was a real treat!
The hotel feels like it's lost its spark, with some odd decor and a bit of a stuffy vibe. The service, especially at breakfast, left me hanging, and it was really disappointing to find dirty tables outside just chilling after being left untouched for hours.

missingWrote a review on May 29quirky decorhigh-quality diningoutdated decor
The quirky decor adds a unique character, providing a sense of charm that feels personal. The dining experience, particularly at The Herd steak restaurant, offers high-quality, locally inspired dishes that elevate the culinary journey and add to the overall enjoyment of the stay.
The room was stifling hot without any air conditioning, and the provided fan only circulated warm air, which was unpleasant. The shower's metal dial kept falling off, creating a potential hazard during use. the room's decor, with peeling flapper-themed photos, felt outdated and did not match the online images, leaving a disappointing impression. Thin walls led to disruptive noise from creaky floorboards, further detracting from comfort during the night.

During my stay, I enjoyed the spacious, cozy Classic Double Room, perfect for my dog. The huge comfortable bed offered a restful night, and the proximity to the train station was a plus. A minor hiccup was the Wi-Fi issues, but overall, a delightful experience.
